The Western-oriented authorities in Russia themselves produce their protesting “gravedigger,” political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on January 31 on the Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program on the Russia One channel.
Russia’s pro-Western policy combines seeming patriotism and an orientation towards Western values. “It is continuously producing its on gravedigger in the form of a pro-Western elite and pro-Western strata in civic society,” Kurginyan said.
According to the political scientist, the participants of the rallies in support of Navalny will continue to go to the streets, because the West is both their sponsor and social status.
The leader of Essence of Time reminded that, according to German philosopher Karl Marx, capitalist educates and feeds his hired worker, proletarian, thus producing his own gravedigger.
Kurginyan believes that the pro-Western policy in Russia and the former republics of the USSR similarly produces the “gravedigger” to the current authorities.
After the collapse of the USSR in 1991, coups d’état in the form of “color revolutions” took place in many former republics of the USSR. The main forces on the streets in these “people’s revolts” was people demanding that the corrupt authorities be removed, and a pro-Western policy be followed. These pro-Western governments ended up only making the standard of living in their republics even worse.
