A patriotic organization with reliance on the civil society would be a reliable support for the Belarusian state, said lawyer, political scientist, the doctor in law, lecturer of Law Faculty of Finance University under the Government of the Russian Federation Igor Semenovsky in his interview to a Rossa Primavera News Agency’s correspondent on October 24.
“Patriotic organization that would unite youth activists, studios and sports clubs, military-patriotic clubs, groups at finding lost soldiers, veterans’ organizations and so on would be a strong support not only for Lukashenko but for Belarus as a whole. And it should be an organization that would give importance to civicism,” Semenovsky said.
He added that such an organization should have regional offices and offices in major cities, “It should be active to gather as many people as possible. In this case, tens of thousands of people would not go dancing to the tune of a famous Telegram-channel.”
On September 23, Aleksandr Lukashenko officially took the office of the president. Mass media informed about this only a few hours later.
On October 13, the leader of Belarusian opposition Svetlana Tikhanovskaya delivered an ultimatum to Aleksandr Lukashenko. She urged authorities of the republic to fulfill requirements of opposition by October 25. She demanded that Lukashenko leave the post of president, stop violence in the streets and release all political prisoners. Another march of opposition “Peoples ultimatum” was planned for October 25 in Belarus. However, this Sunday march of opposition went off relatively calmly.
