Certain countries want to rewrite the history of World War Two with a purpose that will affect our future, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin said on February 13 at a meeting of the Working Group to prepare amendments to the Constitution.
According to the President, it is “an obvious fact” that the war against history in intended “not for today, but for tomorrow.” Therefore, he noted, all “attempts to rewrite history are harmful.”
Putin also expressed support to the idea that Russia’s status of a victorious power in World War Two should be enshrined in the Constitution. “Whether this should be mentioned in the Constitution, and if it should, in which part, this is what we should think about. The idea itself is definitely good.”
