The borders of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) will be established along the borders of Lugansk region at the beginning of the Donbass conflict, and the appropriate law will become effective soon, the LPR leader Leonid Pasechnik said on December 17 at a joint press conference of the LPR and the DPR leaders.
Pasechnik stressed that Donbass residents refused to accept the coup d’etat in Ukraine, and they organized themselves to say their downright no to this coup d’etat, which was expressed at the referendum in 2014. The LPR leader stressed that the current Bandera regime in Kiev is self-constituted, and that the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky continues this policy.
“The national border law adopted in the DPR implements the will of the residents of Donetsk region. A similar law will become effective in our republic, too,” the LPR leader said.
In late November 2019, the DPR Parliament adopted a national border law. The border is established based on the territory of Donetsk region as of 2014. The law has a provision that the border will pass along the contact line as long as the conflict between Ukraine and the DPR remains unresolved.
