27.11.2019, Minsk.
The meeting on the issues of ending the war in Donbass, which was held in the trilateral contact group format, is over, RIA Novosti reports citing the press service of the Foreign Ministry of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
“The meeting of the contact group is over. The next meeting in Minsk will take place on December 18, 2019,” the statement says.
According to the DPR Foreign Ministry, the economy, humanitarian, and security working groups opened the meeting.
The trilateral group of official representatives of Ukraine, the EU (OSCE), and Russia, established in the summer of 2014, was discussing urgent issues requiring cooperation between the conflicting sides.
Since the fall of 2014, three documents have been adopted on stepwise de-escalation of the conflict, but this goal has not been reached, and the hostilities continue. Currently, the group continues monitoring the fulfillment of the decisions made by the Normandy Four to resolve the armed conflict in Ukraine.
Several days ago Leonid Kuchma’s press secretary revealed that the main topics of the Minsk trilateral meeting would be the release and safety of the POWs.
