One of the cofounders of the Mayday Rescue Foundation is confirmed dead on November 11, reports its official web site.
Mayday Rescue posted an obituary for the death of James Le Mesurier. The organization emphasizes the great impact Mesurier had helping civilians, particularly in Syria.
Mayday Rescue asks not to speculate on the death of Mesurier and to remember him “as what he was: a visionary, and a dear colleague and friend.”
The organization Syria Civil Defense, better known as the White Helmets is an international division of the Mayday Rescue. Mayday Rescue receives its funding from the governments of Denmark, Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, as well from the US government organization USAID. White Helmets have been repeatedly involved in military provocations in Syria.
James Le Mesurier was a former UK military officer who worked for MI-6. He served as an officer in many conflicts including Kosovo and the Middle East.
He had contacts with organizations such as Al Qaeda (an organization banned Russian). In 2016, Le Mesurier was awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his services.
