An act of shelling performed by the Ukrainian military against the northern outskirts of Gorlovka killed a civilian, the head of the municipality, Ivan Prikhodko, informed on March 1, Donetsk News Agency reports.
According to Prikhodko, a woman born in 1946, was killed at 8.15 AM in a house at 50 Artuzova street.
Prikhodko also stressed that this was the first civilian victim in 2019 killed by the Ukrainian army’s shelling of civilian targets in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).
An operations team from the DPR mission to the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) of the ceasefire regime arrived at the scene.
Over the last 24 hours, the Ukrainian military violated the ceasefire 17 times. For example, the village of Golmovsky to the north of Gorlovka was shelled. 200 strikes on DPR territory were made in the past 24 hours. The Ukrainian army shelled the area of the airport (Volvo Center) and the village of Zhabichevo at the northwestern outskirts of Donetsk, as well as the villages of Trudovskaya, Aleksandrovka, and Staromikhailovka to the west of the capital city, the village of the Gagarin Mine in western Gorlovka, the village of Yakovlevka adjacent to Yasinovataya, and the villages of Kominternovo and Sakhanka in the southern DPR.
