How the people’s opinion on pension reform was brought to Putin. Photo report

Russian citizens consider the pension reform initiated by the government as a robbery and betrayal. Across the country, the people are speaking out against the reform, recording videos and uploading them on Youtube. Around 150 activists from the Essence of Time left-patriotic movement with more than one million signatures of the citizens from across the country against the pension reform arrived at the Presidential Administration building in Moscow.

Rain poured down in Moscow in the morning, and the boxes were put into plastic bags in order for the signatures not to be spoiled.

There were so many activists that the que quickly filled the lane at the entrance to the presidential administration, reached Ilyinka street and disappeared around the corner.

The whole que did not fit in one frame…

Red umbrellas enveloped the building and were lost to view on the Novaya square.

Among the activists were people of all ages: young girls …

representatives of the older generation who have already retired, but they still care …

men of all ages…

and more girls.

Despite the fact that the authorities behave as if everything is already decided, and they do not care about the people’s opinion, the activists are in fighting spirits.

Many of the activists greeted a police bus passing by with a smile.

The red umbrellas filled the lane that is usually only full of officials’ cars.

The leader of Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan came to oversee the handing over of the signatures.

The leader of the All-Russian Parents’ Resistance (ARPR) Maria Mamikonyan is sure that the reform can deal a crushing blow to the birth rate and demographics in the country.

Many journalists including those one from the foreign media, French, Canadian, came.

Boxes are tagged with the names of cities and settlements from all over Russia, where the collection of signatures was underway. The signatures were collected in 60 regions of the country.

For a while, activists had to stand in the rain while bureaucratic issues were settled.

But after a while the administration began to accept boxes promptly …

and more boxes

and even more.

And yet, over a million voices against the pension reform, for the resignation of the government and for a new socially-oriented conservative course of the country were handed over to the Russian president after a few hours in the pouring rain.
