The Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov in his speech at the 4th Eastern Economic Forum on September 12 said that Russia is returning to its own identity, which is different from the neoliberal values, a Rossa Primavera News Agency correspondent reports.
“Times have changed, and now we are coming back to our own identity, our history, our tradition, and our values, which differ from neoliberal values. The fact that we have started making our own decisions apparently meets discontent,” the Foreign Minister said.
According to Sergey Lavrov, Russia should not be perceived solely in the light of its defeat in the Cold War. “Those who study our country seriously should not take the abnormality we experienced in 1990-ies for a signal that our history is over,” he said.
The 4th Eastern Economic Forum began on September 11 in Vladivostok. The scope of the event covers such issues as human capital, economy, and development. The list of speakers includes federal ministers and business leaders. The event is to continue though September 13.
