The people of Donetsk are not broken down by the assassination of the Donetsk People’s Republic leader Aleksandr Zakharchenko, said TV journalist, war correspondent of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Aleksandr Sladkov on September 3 on the air of the Vesti FM radio station.
Aleksandr Sladkov reported from Donetsk on Aleksandr Zakharchenko’s funeral. He stressed that the citizens of Donetsk are not broken and that they are ready to continue the war.
“The phenomenon of the people of Donetsk is that they can take the blow. They can take the blow and then fight back,” the journalist concluded.
Aleksandr Zakharchenko’s funeral took place on September 2. About 150 thousand people came to say farewell to the leader of the DPR who was killed on August 31 by a terrorist attack. According to the former DPR Minister of State Security Andrey Pinchuk, the assassination was organized by the Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko. The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov believes that Zakharchenko was assassinated in order to undermine the Minsk agreements.
