Israel interferes actively into the American politics, claimed Noam Chomsky, linguist and professor at the University of Arizona, The Independent reports on July 31.
The academician said that it was ridiculous to accuse Russia of the interference in the elections and not to note the scale of Israeli one, “First of all, if you’re interested in foreign interference in our elections, whatever the Russians may have done barely counts or weighs in the balance as compared with what another state does, openly, brazenly and with enormous support.”
As an example of such interference, he mentioned the fact that even the President was not informed about the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to Congress.
Noam Chomsky also stated that while the Russian interference is vigorously discussed, real problems such as global warming are being put to the side. He characterised the current situation as destructive and full of immense threats.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke before the Congress in March 2015 opposing the Barack Obama administration’s plans to sign the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action with Iran.
