The US military forces bombed a Syrian army’s position located in the east of the Syrian province of Homs. One serviceman is was killed, RIA Novosti reported on June 22.
“The airplanes of the US-led coalition launched an airstrike against the army’s position in Jabal Gurab 150 kilometres east from the city of Palmyra near the Iraqi border,” the agency cites the words of a Syrian army battlefield commander.
According to him, the airstrike killed an officer of the Syrian army. The US conducted an airstrike after the Syrian military opened fire on three vehicles moving towards the positions of the government forces in Al Halba district south-east of Palmyra. Such engagement on the ground has never happened before, the experts say. The vehicles were from Al-Tanf region, where a US military base was built, located near the border of Syria, Iraq, and Jordan.
On April 14, the United States supported by France and Great Britain performed an airstrike using cruise missiles on military and civil facilities in Syria. Over 100 missiles were launched, a part of them was destroyed by the Syrian air defence systems. The reason and justification of airstrikes in Syria were the false flag chemical attack in the city of Douma in the Eastern Ghouta staged by non-government organizations sponsored by the State Department. Russia condemned the strikes and called it an act of aggression against a sovereign country.
