Sappers of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) cleared the areas of two villages from mines, the acting chief of the LPR People’s Militia Office Mikhail Filiponenko said on January 12, the Lugansk Information Center reports.
The area surrounding the villages of Kirovsk and Donetsky was cleared of unexploded ordnance, the representative of the LPR People’s Militia said.
Earlier in Minsk, the parties to the conflict agreed upon a ceasefire starting December 23, 2017, for the period of the New Year and Christmas holidays. However, the shelling continues. During the last week, the Ukrainian armed forces have fired almost 370 rounds of ammunition on the territory of the Lugansk People’s Republic.
