Jabhat al-Nusra command center (organization banned in Russia) was destroyed by the airstrikes of the Russian Aerospace Forces in Syria, the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry Igor Konashenkov said on October 4, RIA Novosti news agency reports.
As a result of the airstrikes, the terrorist leader Abu Mohammad al-Julani was badly wounded. He is in critical condition now. Also, 12 field commanders were killed, including the closest aide of al-Julani, Security Director of Akhmad al-Gizai group.
“As a result of the airstrike, Jabhat al-Nusra (organization banned in Russia – Rossa Primavera News Agency) leader Abu Mohammad al-Juliani received multiple shrapnel wounds, lost an arm and, according to several independent sources, is in a critical condition,” Konashenkov said.
The decision to attack was made after a message about the meeting of the leaders of the terrorist organization was received. Russian SU-34 and SU-35 fighters struck the place of meeting after the meeting started.
The remaining Islamic groups in Syria suffer great losses in recent months. 2359 terrorists were killed in just ten day from September 19-29, 2017.
