On September 14, the armed forces of the Syrian Arab Republic liberated nine localities in the province of Homs from Islamists, Pars Today* reports
The Syrian army liberated a number of localities in the province of Homs, which previously were controlled by ISIL (an organization banned in Russia).
It is noted that Unk al-Hawa, one of the liberated villages, was a key stronghold of terrorists in the Jubb al-Jarrah sector of the Syrian Desert. In addition to the liberation of the localities, the Syrian Army managed to recapture six strategic heights in the province.
On September 12, Lieutenant-General Alexander Lapin, the Chief of Staff of the Russian Armed Forces group in Syria, said that currently extremist organizations control no more than 15% of the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic. The Chief of Staff added that ISIL and Jabhat al-Nusra (organizations banned in Russia) will be completely destroyed in Syria.
