The Ukrainian army is intensifying the shelling of the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic (the DPR). The tensest situation is observed on the Yasinovataya part of the front, a source in the Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia (DPR PM) informed a Rossa Primavera News Agency reporter on May 2.
The Ukrainian artillery continues to shell the northern and western suburbs of Gorlovka. The enemy shelled the village of Zaytsevo causing fire outbreak in a house on Rybalko street. According to local residents, combat was underway north of Uglegorsk.
The situation is tense on the Yasinovataya part of the front. On May 2, the Ukrainian army heavily shelled the suburbs of the town and the area of Donetsk water filtration plant with tanks and mortars of various calibers. Power lines were damaged as a result of the shelling, and electric power was lost in the plant. Because of the ceaseless shelling, it was impossible to evacuate the plant employees who had to stay in the bomb shelter.
On the Mariupol direction, the village of Sakhanka came under Ukrainian army fire. The enemy utilized tanks during the shelling.
On May 1, the Ukrainian army violated the ceasefire 47 times. A total of 16 towns and villages came under the Ukrainian military’s fire. 2 houses were damaged in the village of Zaytsevo, north of Gorlovka. In the village of Yakovlevka, Yasinovtasky district, one house was destroyed, and 2 civilians were injured. In the west of Donetsk, in Trudovskiye, 5 buildings and the windows in school No 103 were damaged, one civilian was wounded as a result of the shelling.
