Ukrainian military conducted recon by combat on the Mariupol direction (in the area of Kominternovo village) simultaneously with attacking northern Donetsk outskirts.
Today, on January 31, at 10 AM local time, up to two platoons of Ukrainian military’s independent marine brigade and Right Sector militants (currently Right Sector had been rebranded as Yarosh’s State Initiative) launched an attack with the support of three infantry fighting vehicles after a massive artillery preparation. Having encountered fierce resistance of DPR People’s Militia, Ukrainian militants retreated to their positions. As a result of the attack, 14 militants of Armed Forces of Ukraine were killed, dozens were injured.
Despite DPR People’s Militia’s offer to cease fire, Ukrainian military continue to blatantly violate the ceasefire. Today Donetsk, Makeevka, Yasinovataya and Kominternovo were shelled by Ukrainian rocket artillery, heavy artillery and mortars.
