We received a sad news. Our comrade, battalion commander of Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Armed Forces, Grek was killed.
Grek was among those militiamen, who took up arms to repulse the attacks of Kiev nationalists from the very beginning of the Civil War in Donbass. He struggled against the Kiev junta’s punitive forces until the last days of his life. He was a commander of a battalion of Vostok brigade, then battalion commander of the 11th Regiment of DPR Army.
The battalion commander was killed in the combat while leading one of his sub-units to repulse an attack of Kiev junta’s punitive forces. The enemy was thrown back to the initial positions and lost 15 people dead and 20 injured, not to mention 5 killed and over 10 injured due to the “friendly fire” by the disoriented Ukrainian army parts. These results were achieved due to the effective actions of Grek’s units.
We grieve over our brother and will always remember him.
He will live on in our memories forever!
