Officers of the specialized unit ‘Legion’ of Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) gave away a repaired ‘GAZelle’ minibus and gifts to the children living in the Republican orphanage, the press service of the MES informed on August 18th.
“Yesterday, the officers of ‘Legion’ handed over the repaired minibus ‘GAZelle’, which was previously used for transportation of children and delivery of medicines and food, to the Republican orphanage. The officers of ‘Legion’ repaired the minibus by themselves. The rescuers also brought humanitarian aid in the form of clothes, shoes, and toys in this minibus,” the press service added.
According to the MES, the minibus was not operational since the times when Donetsk region was a part of Ukraine, long before the civil war in Donbass, and was out of order. Despite the requests of the institution employees to repair the vehicle, a positive response was received only in the times of Donetsk People’s Republic. The rescuers replaced the rusty bottom, repaired the running gear and solved problems in the suspension.
Republican specialized orphanage for HIV-infected children is located in Makeevka and is constantly supervised by the Republican authorities. Yesterday, the Members of DPR People’s Council gifted diapers, baby shampoos, creams and confectionery to the Institution.
