Russian Defense Ministry informed about the death of a serviceman in Syria who guarded the humanitarian convoy of the Russian Reconciliation Center.
Sergeant Andrey Timoshenkov stopped a vehicle loaded with explosives, which a suicide bomber tried to ram into the place where humanitarian aid was distributed to residents of Homs province. Andrei received fatal injuries when the vehicle exploded.
“Sergeant Andrei Leonidovich Timoshenkov is recommended for state decoration — posthumously,” the Russian Defense Ministry added.
