Soldiers of the 10th battalion of 59th brigade of the Ukrainian Army, being in the state of extreme intoxication, detonated grenades and opened fire on the civilians by small arms. There are killed and wounded among the civilians. Due to the incident, the whole personnel of the 68th brigade is confine to barracks, according to the spokesperson of People’s Militia of Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) Major Andrey Marochko, LuganskInformCenter news agency informed on June 18th.
Andrey Marochko noted that Ukraine continues to ignore the Minsk agreements, amass military equipment near the contact line, and increase the intensity of the shellings. However, the morale of the Kiev junta’s soldiers and the discipline in the units are depressing.
The media repeatedly reported evidence of looting and non-combat losses due to alcoholism among the Ukrainian military. On June 4th, the Chief Military Prosecutor of Ukraine said that the non-combat losses of the Ukrainian army include more than a thousand killed and more than three thousand injured. The main reasons, which has been mentioned, are suicide, drunkenness, violation of safety precautions, and hazing.
