The world may change dramatically because of the coronavirus crisis. Opinion

The conditions of the current crisis may allow the existing world to be changed forever and fundamentally, Rossa Primavera News Agency editorial published on October 25 reads.

Earlier, US scientists suggested completing education and health care reforms, as well as tightening financial policies and market reforms to reduce the increased global debt.

This was stated by Senior Economist at the World Bank Naotaka Sugawara, Manager at the World Bank Franziska Ohnsorge, and Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution M. Ayhan Kose stated this.

According to their estimates, global debt began rising in 2010 and reached record highs during the crisis caused by the threat of the spread of the coronavirus. They cited data showing that global debt reached 97% of GDP.

The health care system and education reforms the experts are talking about mean the maximum “digitalization” of these industries, and investments in “green” technologies imply a global restructuring of the economy for the sake of reducing emissions into the atmosphere.

Many experts have said that the conditions of the current crisis may allow for a permanent and radical restructuring of the existing world.

The results of this restructuring are still difficult to predict. But we can assume that they will also mean a transformation of the human himself, who will be shaped by the new digital technologies of education and who will find himself in a new economy in which there will be far fewer opportunities for human communication.
