Kurginyan: To win, Lukashenko needs a party ready to fight and go all the way

20.09.2020, Moscow.

The blitzkrieg aimed at a coup d’etat in Belarus has failed, as Aleksandr Lukashenko has succeeded in bringing the situation into a protracted phase, but for victory he needs people ready to go all the way with him, said the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist Sergey Kurginyan on September 15 on the air of the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program on Russia One channel.

Speaking about the processes in Belarus, Kurginyan compared the country’s current elite with the late Soviet leadership of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and the Ukrainian elite under Yanukovych. According to him, they share a “herbivority”, which means that they can easily be slaughtered by “one wolf” in the form of either Gorbachev or Bandera Nazis.

However, the coup d’état in Ukraine provoked the resistance of people in Donetsk who demonstrated a determination. “Now the thing is that Lukashenko needs determined people, he must gather them around himself, he must show them. And then he needs to root out this infection in a mild and delicate manner, as now they (anti-government militants – Rossa Primavera News Agency) are organizing training camps all across the country,” said Kurginyan.

Drawing an analogy with the Ukrainian events of 2014, Kurginyan posed the following question, why did radicals succeed in seizing power in Kiev, but their plans have not yet been realized in Minsk?

“Firstly, in any case Lukashenko is a brave man, not a coward, and this had some impact. He can do something, but this is not the main thing,” stressed Kurginyan.

According to the political scientist, the difference between the Belarusian situation and Ukraine can be explained by the fact that Bandera’s bloody followers, who had been nurtured for decades, were transferred to Kiev by autumn 2013. They were ready to kill and die.

“Yes, they did not have time to do this (in Belarus – Rossa Primavera News Agency). To accomplish this, to escalate it into a bloody phase, they have to deploy a contingent. And I know for sure who is responsible for this. Everything is under contract with Polish intelligence. Definitely, all the command and control is located in one building,” said Kurginyan.

The fact that the Blitzkrieg in Minsk failed does not mean that the protracted phase is a victory. It may end up poorly. All “healthy” forces ready to defend Belarus’ constitutional order must urgently consolidate.

“Lukashenko should gather those who are ready to fight all the way. Conformists step go aside for now, later they will flunk out again and try to get some positions. Now one needs a party ready to fight without hesitations. This is how the “healthy” forces in Belarus can win in this situation,” stressed Kurginyan
