Survivors remember May 2 tragedy in Odessa

Civic activists, who survived the attack in the House of Trade Unions in Odessa on May 2 five years ago, spoke about their tragic experience, RIA Novosti reports.

Oleg Muzyka, Aleksey Albu, Yuri Didenko, and Maria Simikchi, members of organizations that united in the movement “Anti-Maidan” in 2014, were among the survivors, as well as other activists willing to express disagreement with the new order established in their country.

The survivors spoke in detail about the violence that they and their comrades suffered from nationalist armed groups during the attack on the House of Trade Unions on May 2. They believe that the disorders took place with the tacit agreement of the local law enforcement authorities.

The disorders in Odessa on May 2, 2014, killed 48 people and injured several tens. No progress of the criminal investigation opened by the Ukrainian authorities has been noted. The official Kiev has not expressed any regret about these events.
