Russian Foreign Ministry calls NATO exercises “anti-Russian”

26.10.2018, Moscow.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksandr Grushko spoke about the anti-Russian nature of the Trident Juncture NATO exercises in Norway’s coastal waters on October 25, RIA Novosti reported.

According to Grushko, national military planning must take the essentially anti-Russian nature of such activities into account. The diplomat also added that Russia is capable of adequately reacting to such challenges thanks to the close attention that it has been paying to defense over the last several years.

The Trident Juncture exercises are to take place on Norwegian territory from October 25 to November 7. The overall number of servicemen from the 30 countries involved in the exercises is approximately 40 thousand.

Russia is delegating military inspectors to monitor the exercises throughout their course.
