Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered to send several planes to assist in firefighting efforts at Iran’s Shahid Rajaee Port, the Russian Embassy in Tehran stated on April 27.
By order of Vladimir Putin, EMERCOM of Russia aircraft are being dispatched to support local services in extinguishing the fire that broke out at the strategic port in southern Iran.
Following the explosion, Putin expressed condolences to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, and the Iranian people.
The Russian President emphasized that Moscow is ready to provide further support to help mitigate the consequences of the tragic incident.
At least 28 people were killed and 800 injured as a result of the major explosion at Shahid Rajaee Port on April 26. The cause of the explosion remains unknown and an investigation is underway.
