The military leadership of Lebanon ordered its troops to return fire in response to shelling from Syrian territory, the Lebanese army’s press service reported on February 8.
This directive was given to the military by Lebanese President Joseph Aoun. The order to return fire applies to Lebanese troops stationed on the country’s northern and eastern borders.
Return fire is to be initiated in the event of shelling targeting Lebanese populated areas.
