Russia shifts to domestic components for Printz Vandal drone

19.01.2025, Moscow.

The Scientific and Production Center Ushkuynik plans to transition entirely to domestic components for the production of the FPV drone Printz Vandal of Novgorod by 2025, announced Aleksey Chadayev, the center’s CEO, in an interview with TASS on January 19.

The initiative aims to achieve import substitution and localize the production of components.

The drone, which utilizes fiber-optic communication, was first tested in the summer of 2024 during the Ukrainian armed units’ attack in Kursk Region.

Previously, another FPV drone, the multirotor-type Gortensia, was reported to employ fiber-optic control for resistance to electronic warfare and featured a universal payload mounting system.
