Russian Air Defense Forces shot down a Ukrainian Air Force Su-27 aircraft, six HIMARS rockets, and 97 drones over the past 24 hours, the Russian Ministry of Defense informed on January 2.
“Air defense systems shot down a Ukrainian Su-27 aircraft, six HIMARS multiple rocket launch system missiles produced by the USA, and 97 unmanned aerial vehicles of the aircraft type,” the statement reads.
Since the beginning of Russia’s special military operation, Russian forces have destroyed 651 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 39144 unmanned aerial vehicles, 590 anti-aircraft missile systems, 20137 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1504 multiple rocket launchers, 20134 field artillery and mortars, and 29701 units of special military vehicles.
It is worth noting that from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Moscow time on January 1, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported the destruction of 19 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk, Voronezh, and Rostov Regions.
