Slovak president urges to suspend military aid to Kiev

05.10.2023, Bratislava.

Providing another military aid package to Kiev should be postponed, Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová said, Dennik M informed on October 5.

Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová advocated postponing the next military aid package to Kiev because of the victory of former Prime Minister Robert Fico’s party Direction – Social Democracy in the parliamentary elections. According to Čaputová, ignoring the positions taken by the party that won the election “would set an unfortunate precedent for the future” in the country.

During the election program, the leader of the party Direction – Social Democracy Robert Fico advocated the cessation of military supplies to Kiev. According to him, such supplies will not be able to change the outcome of the armed conflict. Instead of providing weapons to the warring party, it is necessary for the EU and the USA to use their influence to conclude a peace agreement between Kiev and Moscow.
