Rostec defense enterprise tells about testing new Hermes missile system

The Hermes multifunctional missile system is at the testing stage, the press service of the KBP Instrument Design Bureau (KBP) (part of the High-Precision Systems Holding of the Rostec State Corporation) said on May 22, RIA Novosti informs.

“Tests of the Hermes complex are underway,” company representatives said.

The press service specified, “A decision on delivery [to Russian troops] will be made based on the results of the tests.”

Company representatives also added that the developers are working on the modernization of the complex “taking into account changes in the situation and tasks.”

The Hermes multifunctional complex is designed to defeat existing and future tanks, armored vehicles, buildings, surface targets, and low-speed aircraft. The range of the complex is 100 km.

According to the developers, the missile has a cruise speed of up to 1.3 thousand meters per second and carries a 28 kg high-explosive incindiary warhead.

On May 17, the deputy director general of the Techmash company (part of Rostec) announced the start of serial production of the Broneboishchik high-powered air-to-surface missile.
