Putin visits the DPR in person for the first time and tours Mariupol

Russian President Vladimir Putin personally visited the DPR for the first time and toured Mariupol, the press service of the Russian president reported on March 19.

“The state leader also toured the Mariupol coastline near the yacht club, the theater building, and memorable sites in the city,” the Kremlin press service noted.

According to them, Putin arrived in Mariupol by helicopter and then toured the city, driving through the streets of several districts behind the wheel of a car. This visit was the president’s first trip to Donbass.

Along the way, the President made stops, surveyed the destruction and progress of reconstruction work, and spoke with city residents. One of the families invited him, and Putin visited their home.

During his tour of the city, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin reported to the president in detail on the progress of construction and reconstruction work.

“In particular, he talked about the construction of new residential neighborhoods, social and educational facilities, housing and utilities infrastructure, and medical facilities,” the Kremlin press service pointed out.

On that day the President also visited the command post of the special operatiob in Rostov-on-Don.
