Russian and Chinese leaders Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping will publish articles with their assessments of the state of relations between the two countries on March 20. Russian presidential assistant for international affairs Yuri Ushakov said this at a briefing on March 17.
“The two leaders have agreed that they will publish articles, respectively, in Zhemin Zhebao (The People’s Daily) and in Rossiyskaya Gazeta. These articles by Putin and Xi Jinping will be published on Monday, March 20,” said Ushakov.
According to the diplomat, the leaders will express in the articles their assessments of relations between their countries.
“This is an important signal on the eve of the negotiations themselves,” Ushakov added.
Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping plans to visit Russia March 20-22.
