Two Swedish citizens get lengthy sentences for spying for Russia

A Swedish court sentenced two of its fellow citizens for spying for Russia, Swedish Radio reported on January 19.

The oldest of the two naturalized Swedes — Peyman Kia — was sentenced to life, while his younger brother, Payam Kia, was sentenced to nine years and 10 months. They had appeared before the Stockholm District Court where they faced charges of having worked jointly to pass information to Russia between September 28, 2011, and September 20, 2021, Associated Press wrote.
