Seizure of governmental buildings in Brazil is part of a wider strategy. Opinion

The seizure of governmental buildings in Brazil is part of a wider strategy, Ambassador of Argentina to the Organization of American States (OAS) Carlos Raimundi said on Telam Radio.

He said that the attempt of a coup d’etat in Brazil should be definitely rejected and condemned; however, it should be investigated whether the seizure of governmental buildings in Brazil by the supporters of ex-president Jair Bolsonaro was part of a wider strategy.

Raimundi suggests that there is a connection between recent ultra-right disorders in the Bolivian Santa Cruz Department, the dismissal and arrest of President of Peru Pedro Castillo, the assassination attempt against Vice President of Argentina Cristina Kirchner, and the assault of the Capitol in the USA on January 6, 2021.

According to Raimundi, the struggle between Neo-liberalism, supported by major financial conglomerates, and ultra-right radicalism and Neo-fascism is an internal conflict of globalized financial capitalism experiencing a crisis of legitimacy.

Therefore, he stressed that not all those who condemn the disorders and the seizures of governmental buildings in Brazil are uninvolved in coup d’etats elsewhere on the globe.
