Today, Russia and the world celebrate International Workers’ Day. It is being celebrated in very different ways – somewhere uncertainly and ambiguously, somewhere with hope and expectation, and somewhere persistently fighting – including for the right to celebrate International Workers’ Day. Before the collapse of the Soviet Union, it was celebrated as Workers’ Day. After the disintegration of the Soviet Union, since 1992, it is celebrated in Russia as “Spring and Labor Day.”

Russia delivers about 5 thousand tons of humanitarian aid to Ukraine, LPR and DPR

About 5,000 tons of humanitarian aid were delivered by Russia to Ukraine, the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR), Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev, Director of Russia’s National Defense Management Center, said at a briefing on March 24, the Russian Defense Ministry’s Department of Information and Mass Communications reported.

Olympic champion Evgeny Rylov has withdrawn from the world championship in protest

Russian swimmer and two-time Olympic champion Evgeny Rylov refused to go to the World Swimming Championships as a sign of solidarity with Russian athletes from other sports who were banned from international competitions. Rylov himself wrote about this on his Instagram (organization banned in Russia) page on March 23.
