Donetsk People’s Republic Defense Ministry informs that Ukrainian sabotage unit opened fire at OSCE SMM monitors when they inspected the repair works on the pipes which supply gas from Donetsk to Maryinka, Donetsk News Agency reports citing a source in DPR Defense Ministry. According to the representative of the Ministry, what happened was a carefully planned provocation with the use of small arms.

According to Donetsk People’s Republic army reconnaissance, an armed clash erupted between Ukrainian army marines and extremist “Azov” regiment militants, said DPR Deputy Defense Minister Eduard Basurin during his daily briefing in Donetsk News Agency press-center. Two marines were murdered during the shootout, another three were wounded.

This time OSCE, Joint Center for Ceasefire Control and Coordination representatives and Donetsk People’s Republic Deputy Defense Minister Eduard Basurin came under sniper fire when they were heading to inspect the site of the shelling of December 25. On that day punitive forces fired 240 mortar shells at the village.
