Fascists march in celebration of Stepan Bandera’s birthday in Kiev

According to Ukrainian media, approximately 3 thousand supporters of the nationalist “Svoboda” party and the extremist “Right Sector” organization have gathered yesterday to celebrate the birthday of the leader of OUN-UPA, Ukrainian fascists, Stepan Bandera. They have marched in a column through the central streets of Kiev, imitating fascist torchlight processions.

On January 1, 2016, the all-Ukrainian “Svoboda” union organizes a torchlight march in Kiev in honor of the 107th birthday of the leader of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists Stepan Bandera. ‘Svoboda’ will hold this traditional torchlight procession in honor of the national hero for the tenth time,” public affairs office of “Svoboda” party (formerly known as the “Social-Nationalist Party of Ukraine”) has informed.

Texas Chronicle #3: What Are We Fighting For?

In 1965, shortly after the first American combat troops arrived in Vietnam, Country Joe McDonald famously sang:
“And it’s one, two, three,
what are we fighting for?
Don’t ask me I don’t give a damn
Next stop is Vietnam.
And it’s five, six, seven, open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain’t no time to wonder why,
Whoopie! We’re all gonna die!“

Of course, it was a rhetorical question — the obvious, objective answer being:  fighting for a criminal, imperialistic war of choice.  But the war was won by the heroic Vietnamese people and the North Vietnamese Army, under the leadership of Ho Chi Minh, at the cost of several million dead and unspeakable atrocities committed by the Americans and their South Vietnamese proxy.

People defend church in West Ukraine for 4 days, police on the side of attackers

Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate (UOC MP) churchgoers continue to defend Uspensky temple in Ptichye village near Rovno in West Ukraine for the fourth day in a row against the attacks of schismatics of the “Kiev patriarchate”, unrecognized by world Orthodoxy. With the support of police the schismatics have besieged the church, leaving the people inside without electricity, heating, water and food, according to UOC MP public affairs office.

OSCE: Ukrainian decommunization law contradicts EU standards

The Venice Commission of the Council of Europe and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe issued a joint communique in which they called Ukraine’s law “On condemnation of the Communist and National Socialist totalitarian regimes in Ukraine and banning the promotion of their symbols” inconsistent with European legal standards.
