The servicemen of the Russian Pacific Fleet honored the memory of those perished in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, Vladimir Matveyev, the spokesman of the Eastern Military District of the Russian Pacific Fleet, informed on June 22, RIA Novosti reported.

Yesterday a monument to Donetsk antifascist underground resistance members and prisoners of Nazi concentration camps was unveiled in Donetsk near the memorial “To the Victims of Fascism”. The monument immortalized the deed of five girls who saved 240 prisoners of the death camp, which stood here, during the Great Patriotic War. Kapitolina Kostrykina, Klava Baranchikova, Maria Noskova, Shura Vasileva and Zina Polonchuk were captured by fascists and executed.
Day of Liberation of Donbass was celebrated today in Lenin Komsomol park. A concert and celebratory rally gathered thousands of residents at the monument “To Your Liberators, Donbass”. Veterans of the Great Patriotic War were guests of honor at the celebration.
Yesterday celebratory events dedicated to the 73rd anniversary of liberation of Donbass from German Nazi and fascist invaders took place on Saur-Mogila. Following the tradition, thousands of residents of the Republic, including veterans of the Great Patriotic War, arrived at the base of the tumulus to take part in the celebratory rally and honor the memory of warriors, who died in battles for this height against Nazis in 1943 and 2014.
Over 2000 residents of Krasny Luch town attended the rally “Flowers for Heroes” dedicated to the 73th Anniversary of liberation of the town and Lugansk region from German Nazi and fascists invaders, the Town Administration informed Lugansk Information Center on September 7th.
