Social canteens and field kitchens for the civilians of Donetsk. This is a second report about social canteens and filed kitchens, which have been organized by the “Vostok” brigade, for the civilians of Donetsk.
The Kiev junta has been trying to destroy the citizens of Donetsk for more than half a year now. The civilians have been under constant shelling by the Ukrainian army. More than that, in November 2014 Ukrainian President Poroshenko signed a decree that cut economic ties with militia-controlled areas of Donbass by freezing bank accounts of civilians and denying them social payments. It means that Kiev had officially started the social-economic blockade of Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. The civilians of these regions gave their entire lives to work for Ukraine, but they have been denied all social benefits and pensions by the official Kiev.
This made it impossible for many civilians in Donbass to even meet their daily essential food needs. That is why militia established a network of social canteens in Donetsk in order to save these civilians form starvation. Thousands of people are receive meals in the field kitchens and social canteens daily. It is hard to imagine what would have happened with the residents of Donetsk without this support from militiamen.
Field kitchens for the civilians of Donetsk organized by the “Vostok” brigade
A militiaman, who is a cook himself, explains how these kitchens work: every day militiamen deliver food for residents of Donetsk who have to stay in bombshelters and who have no money to buy food, because the Kiev junta confiscated all social and rental payments of the Donbass civilians.
More than a thousand people receive meals in such field kitchens every day. It is hard to imagine what would have happened to the residents of Donetsk without this support from militiamen. The living conditions which the Kiev junta has created for the people of Donbass are beyond any human understanding. The citizens describe these conditions as “living like dogs, thanks to Kiev”.
Liberated residents of Red Partisan Township talk about Ukrainian army and living conditions under Ukrainian occupation. The reporters interview several residents of Red Partisan Township, which was under the Ukrainian occupation until it was liberated by the militiamen from Donetsk People Republic in the end of January.
The details about the living conditions under Ukrainian occupation, which the locals talk about in their interviews, are hard to listen to. The citizens call Ukrainian army “bandits” and “beasts”, describe how the Ukrainian soldiers, who were located in the same township, bombed precisely the citizens’ houses and forced the citizens to flee and become refuges. The practice of driving civilians from their land has only one name – genocide. One day the Kiev junta will be brought to justice for its war crimes.
Donetsk residents promptly clean up the shelling aftermath.
The punitive forces of the Kiev junta shelled the center of Donetsk. Several apartment buildings, a children playground and a kindergarten got damaged. Ukrainian solders who have conducted these and other shellings of civilian objects in Donetsk and Lugansk, and Ukrainian generals, who issued such orders, are war criminals.
On February 14, 2015, the representatives of the “Vostok” brigade received a letter from the residents of Gorlovka city.
