Radicals threaten to disrupt the Odessa international film festival

A film festival in Odessa is under a threat of being thwarted by Ukrainian radicals, Vesti, Ukrainian portal, reported on June 22.

Sergei Sternenko, the ex-commander of the Odessa Right Sector (organization banned inRussia ), said that „Vika Tigipko, the president of the Odessa International Film Festival (OIFF), believes that there is a civil war in Ukraine,“ commenting  on her statement in which she linked the difficulties in inviting foreign filmmakers and stars to the festival with the civil war that is going on in Ukraine.

Sternenko demanded OIFF to replace the  “separatist“ Tigipko, otherwise the entire event would “come to a nasty end.” Continue reading

LPR officials: SBU demands that bus drivers film roads in the LPR and Russia

Officials of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU, Ukrainian: SBU) force drivers of passenger buses to secretly film the territory along the roads of their routes to the LPR and Russia, the Public Relations Center (PRC) of the LPR Ministry of Internal Affairs (Russian: MVD) said on June 22, the LuganskInformCenter reports.

“In the period from June 17 to 20, the LPR MVD hotline received reports from a number of persons living either in the LPR or in the part of the Republic temporarily occupied by the Ukrainian army. All the sources are employees of various transport companies; they work as intercity or international bus drivers operating on the territory controlled by Ukraine. The men reported that SBU officers have been approaching them at the end points of their routes, offering to cooperate. In particular, they were asked to install dashcams in the hidden places to continuously film when driving in the LPR and the Russian Federation. After returning to Ukraine, they would deliver the records to the SBU officers. The drivers would also have to submit written reports about everything they saw on their way,” the MVD of the Republic said. Continue reading

Suspects who attacked the OSCE mission patrol are detained in Yasinovataya

Armed men who attacked the patrol of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (OSCE SMM) in the town of Yasiynovataya were detained by the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) state security forces, Donetsk News Agency reported on June 21.

“As a result of the measures taken by the DPR Defense Ministry and State Security Ministry, armed men who attacked the OSCE SMM patrol on June 20 were detained in the course of the investigation,” said the DPR Operational Command.  The attackers dressed in military attire and balaclavas approached the OSCE SMM in a car with Ukrainian license plates, threatened the OSCE observers with weapons, damaged their vehicle, and fired several shots in the air.   It is reported that the detained are not enlisted with the DPR army or a law enforcement authority.  The preliminary investigation suggests that the attack was ordered by Ukrainian security forces to discredit DPR’s authorities and to intimidate the OSCE observers. Fighters from Kiev junta’s punitive operation blocks Poroshenko’s reception office

On June 19, fighters of Kiev junta’s punitive operation in Donbass blocked President Poroshenko’s Reception Office, reports Regnum News Agency citing the Ukrainian media.

Protesters broke into the President’s Reception Office and blocked its activity. According to Ukrainian media, the protest was organized by the Revolutionary Right Forces headed by Bronislav Sukhiy, mothers of the Ukrainian Army servicemen that perished in Donbass took part in the protest as well.
