DPR military intelligence has registered skirmishes between Ukrainian army and Ukrainian National Guard divisions in Shyrokino village area – on the contact line, according to DPR Deputy Defense Minister Eduard Basurin.

The firefights happened from September 1 to September 3. Ukrainian army and Ukrainian National Guards have shelled each others positions.

Most probably the firefights were provoked by clashes in Kiev, which have affected the moral and mental health of the Ukrainian servicemen in the village occupied by the National Guard.

Clashes near the Ukrainian Parliament have erupted in Kiev on Monday during the voting on the authority decentralization law. Three servicemen died in those clashes, over a hundred people were injured.

On July 1 DPR has unilaterally declared Shyrokino, a village on the contact line in the south of the republic, a demilitarized zone. Militiamen have left the village on the following day. Talks on the question of complete demilitarization of Shyrokino happened between Joint Center for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCCC) and OSCE heads on July 4. A proposition was made to establish a position for the monitoring group which would include JCCCC representatives of Kiev, Russia, Donetsk and OSCE. Later, according to JCCCC, Kiev has refused this offer. Ukrainian army divisions continue to stay in the area of the village.
