In 1990s, every means were used to ensure that the older generation would fail to pass the torch to the younger generation to support progress, and a rapid regress was launched, which has not been overcome until today, said political scientist, public activist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan in a new issue of his original program Destiny published on the movement’s YouTube channel.
The political scientist reminded that the key part of any productive forces are people with their knowledge, labor skills, and production experience. In 1990s in Russia, the team led by Egor Gaidar dealt a tremendous blow not only to plants and scientific centers, but most importantly on people. The scientific engineering and academical intelligentsia was destroyed in a meticulous and systematic manner. It was easy to destroy and difficult, almost impossible to restore.
Damage was inflicted, Kurginyan believes, to the mechanism of inheritance, i.e. the passing of the accumulated knowledge, experience, and labor ethics, from the older generation to the younger one. A precondition for this passing is the will and ability of the older generation to pass it and of the younger one to take it.
“Every time it is being passed, the humanity literally hovers over an abyss, because the process of passing and accepting it is an extremely complex mystery, which can either be accomplished by making a wonder or fail. And if it fails, the basics of the existence of the people, the state, and the humanity on the whole will be undermined,” the expert stressed.
As the Soviet heritage was destroyed, everything progressive was declared a burden that should be abandoned, Kurginyan believes. This “liberation” resulted in an explosion of regress in the country, and it interfered with the succession to the new generations.
According to the political scientist, one of the reason of the failure of the succession process was that the entire Soviet experience was declared harmful, impeding the adaptation, and unnecessary for the new generation. On the other hand, the experience of the older generation was devalued in their minds.
Another reason of the failure was that the older generation became poorly integrated in the post-Soviet reality, which deterred the younger generation from adopting their experience. Another factor preventing the younger generation from accepting the succession was “human surrender” of the older generation. The older ones drank themselves to death, they degraded, their families failed, so there was no way to succeed to them.
Also, according to the political scientist, everything related to the Soviet experience was compromised, because it could not help in having any success in the new post-Soviet life and reaching the “rough brutal half-animal material wealth.”“Whatever talents you have in creation, whatever you learn for this creation, you will never get a decent place in the post-Soviet Russian life. You can only get it if you grow claws and fangs, cover with hair, and destroy everything that the succession of generations is supposed to provide, because all this, i.e. morality, culture, etc., hampers the transformation into a beast and obtaining prosperity. This is what regress is,” the leader of the Essence of Time movement concluded.
