Russian diplomat: Johnson's visit to Ukraine is a signal to Kiev that negotiations are unacceptable

26.08.2022, London.

The outgoing British Prime Minister Boris Johnson sent a signal with his recent visit to Kiev that there should be no negotiations with Russia and that a military solution to the situation should be sought, Russian Charge d’Affaires in London Aleksandr Gusarov said in a commentary to Russia-24 television channel on August 26.

“I would like to say one more thing: the political signals that Boris Johnson brought with him to Kiev. These signals are obviously intended both for the Kiev leadership and for US’s Western allies, and for the fellow citizens of Boris Johnson. And this signal is extremely simple – no normalization [of relations] with Russia, no negotiations, not a step back, only the military path that the Ukrainians are being forced to follow, providing them with large-scale financial and military support,” he said.

The Russian diplomat added that the West deliberately turns Ukraine into a testing ground for new weapons. At the same time, Gusarov noted, the Western sponsors of the neo-Nazi regime in Kiev are deeply indifferent to the suffering to which they are condemning the peaceful population of the republic by their policies.
