“There are advances in several directions of the front in the DPR. Our soldiers dislodged the Ukrainian forces from the southern outskirts of Mariinka. Half of the Peski village is under our control. The remaining half [of the village] the enemy most likely left, but this is preliminary information. It will become clear after the mopping-up. There are successes in the area of Avdeevka, Soledar and Artemovsk,” he wrote on the Telegram channel.

Earlier Ukrainian troops shelled Golmovsky and Donetsk several times.

Petrovsky district of Donetsk is located on the western outskirts of the capital of the DPR, it is the most remote part of the city from the center. Since the proclamation of the independence of the DPR in 2014, the Petrovsky district, starting from the line of contact behind the city of Mariinka, has been subjected to regular shelling by Ukrainian security forces.

The village of Golmovsky is located 16 kilometers northeast of Gorlovka, one of the largest DPR villages.
