Serbian historian believes that fascist ideologies are being revived in EU

29.07.2022, Belgrade.

Serbian historian Miloš Ković said that relapses of the worst ideologies, such as neo-fascism and the Ustasha, are not only allowed but welcomed in the EU, Radio Televizija Republike Srpske reported on July 29.

He pointed out that everything that is happening in Croatia in connection with the Ustasha revival is just further confirmation that non-punishable crimes are likely to be repeated, and added that the question is whether Croatia has ever gone through a denazification or de-Ustashization process.

“We are talking about a broader process of revival of Nazi-fascist and Ustasha ideas, which we see not only in Croatia, but also in Ukraine, in some Baltic republics, and also in Western Europe. Today such cases of the revival of the most terrible ideologies are not only allowed but, apparently, they are also recommended in the EU,” Ković said.

He also pointed out that the Serbian public is playing with and even challenging the genocide of the Serbian people in the most unexpected ways, for example, by reducing the number of victims in Jasenovac and other concentration camps.

“My impression is that this is done for the sake of ‘recommendation’ from Brussels, Berlin or London and to establish good neighborly relations in the region. And our Yugoslav experience shows that such humiliation for the sake of pleasing others only leads to continued self-destruction,” professor at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade Miloš Ković said.

According to him, the Serbian priority should be the truth and establishment of the facts about the genocide. The Serbian society should always ask itself what was done to preserve the memory of our victims and include this memory in the foundation of the modern Serbian national identity.

Earlier, Večernje Novosti stated that there is no longer any doubt that the scandalous campaign to rewrite history and revive the Ustasha organization in Croatia is a state project of Zagreb.

The banning of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić from visiting Jasenovac was followed by an outrageous letter from Croatian bishops in which they call the monstrous Jastrebarsko and Sisak concentration camps for children humanitarian centers.
