The role of Africa in Russia’s foreign policy will be increased, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on July 26 following talks with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.
Lavrov noted that the African continent is very important for Russia. And its role in Russia’s foreign policy will significantly increase.
Such a position is conditioned by “our principled, long-term and strategic interests.”
The Minister emphasized that all this will take place irrespective of what is happening now in the Western direction.
“And the Western direction cancels itself,” the foreign minister added.
