Fire and explosions at saltpeter depots in Novaya Kakhovka are not yet extinguished

In the town of Novaya Kakhovka, fire and explosions at saltpeter depots caused by a missile strike by the Ukrainian army have not yet been extinguished, journalists broadcast video from the site on July 12, RIA Novosti reported.

The video shows a large column of smoke over the territory of the depots and destructed neighboring buildings, among which were warehouses of the humanitarian aid center.

According to local authorities, many people are still under the rubble, and rescue operations are underway in the city.

The Ukrainian militants fired missiles at Novaya Kakhovka using multiple rocket launchers. American HIMARS MLRSs were also used for this strike.

As a result of the attack, dozens of houses and infrastructure facilities in the town were destroyed, and hundreds more were seriously damaged. Among the targets of the attack were saltpeter warehouses, where fires and explosions broke out.

Prior to this, there were reports that military personnel from the US and NATO had been sent to Ukraine to use HIMARS effectively.
