What has happened in Amstor shopping center in Kremenchug?

Telegram channel Warfakes exposes the fake about the strikes against the infrastructure in Kremenchug.

Fake: The Russian military struck the Amstor shopping center in Kremenchug. This was reported by the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.

Truth: The Amstor shopping center is located near the Kremenchug plant of road machines (Dormash) and the Kremenchug railway station. In one of the videos people seem to think that the missile hit exactly the plant (the phrase “Dormash, Dormash”). In addition, according to sources familiar with the special operation, the Amstor shopping mall was used as a depot for military equipment, just like the Retroville shopping mall in Kiev.

The Kremenchug station is one of the most important railway junctions in Ukraine, connecting the central and western parts of the country. In addition, the locomotive depot (TCh-6) and the Kremenchug power supply department (TCh-8) are located in Kremenchug. The station is actively used to supply fuel from the Kremenchug oil refinery for the needs of the Ukrainian army.

The Kremenchug plant of road machines is located 90 meters away from the shopping center. Since 2014, the plant has been repairing equipment for the needs of the Ukrainian army. A railway track from Kremenchug station leads to the plant.

Vladimir Zelensky stated that there were about a thousand civilians in the shopping center, but the parking lot in front of the mall was practically empty, with few cars on it. In addition, many military personnel in “pixel” uniforms (regular Ukrainian army T-shirts and camouflage bags), some of them armed with submachine guns, were seen among the people walking around the parking lot. At the same time, in the video footage posted by Zelensky, as well as in the videos on social networks, there are almost no women.

It seems that the shopping center has not been working at all. On Instagram (the social network recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation), photos of visitors tagged “Amstor shopping center” have not been published since March. Feedback on websites and Google maps is not published since March as well. Apparently, the shopping center was used to store equipment repaired at Dormash.
