27.06.2022, Moscow.

The civilians who had been held hostage by the Ukrainian militants at the Azot plant were released. LPR ambassador to Russia Rodion Miroshnik announced this on June 27 on the Russian 24 TV channel.

The Ukrainian militants have no hostages,” the diplomat said. He added that the enterprise’s industrial zone was completely liberated from Ukrainian armed units.

At the same time, some civilians remain in the plant’s bomb shelters, the ambassador said. He noted that people remain there for several reasons. “Some people simply have nowhere to go, and they do not want to leave the territory of Severodonetsk, such people are about 30%,” Miroshnik said.

LPR soldiers are bringing food, water and medicines to the civilians who remained at the Azot plant, the ambassador noted.

According to the diplomat, some of the former hostages have already been evacuated from the industrial zone. According to the latest data, about 500 people have been evacuated. Most of the evacuated were taken to Starobelsk. There is a refugee center in that city, from which people can leave in any direction they choose, including temporary accommodation facilities.
